Couple of recipes from my mum

Sponge

6oz Marge
6oz Suger
6oz Self Raising Flour
3 Eggs
Table Spoon of Milk
Mix it up
2 seperate tins Gas Mark 4 for half an hour

Icing

Icing Sugar in cup
Carefully add water whilst mixing until the right consistency is reached

Butter Icing

As Icing Sugar (with less Water)
1oz Butter or Marge
Mix with Water

Chocolate Cake

1oz Butter or Marge
2oz Suger
2 level Table Spoons of Golden Syrup
Level Tea Spoon of Bi-Carb
1 Cup of Milk
6oz Self Raising Flour
1oz Cocoa
Cream Fat, Sugar and Syrup
Disolve Bi-Carb and Milk
Sift together Flour, Milk and Cocoa.
Alternately add flour and milk to creamed mixture as if making Batter
Put into 8" Sandwich cake tin
Gas 4-5 for 40mins

Boiled Fruit Cake

1 Cup Soft Brown Sugar
3 Cups of Mixed Fruit
1 Cup of Milk
1/4lb of Marge
Boil together for 3 minutes then allow to cool
When cold, mix in 2 Cups of Self Raising Flour, 2oz Ground Almonds or Tea Spoon of Almond Essence
Cake tin 8"
Bake for 2 hours at Gas Mark 3

Chocolate Icing

Cup full of Icing Sugar
Table spoon of Cocoa
Mix with Water (electric mixer)
