Using the Till Link software

5.0 Introduction

This chapter explains how to set up and then run the two programs.

5.1 Setting up the software

To set up the software:

1. Install the Java Runtime Environment (downloadable from Sun Microsystems).
2. Unzip the file javacomm20-win32.zip.
3. Copy the win32com.dll file to the 〈JRE〉\bin directory.
4. Copy the comm.jar file to the 〈JRE〉\lib directory.
5. Copy the javax.comm.properties file to the 〈JRE〉\lib directory.
6. Copy the Till_Link.properties file to the Plusdata directory
7. Copy the Till_Link.jar file to the Plusprog directory.
8. Copy the TMS15.jar file to the Plusprog directory.
9. Create short cuts from the desktop to the two jar files.
10. Ensure the Gilbarco TMS-15 is connected to Comm Port 2.

5.2 Running the software

To run the software:

1. Double click on the Till_Link.jar shortcut.
2. Double click on the TMS15.jar shortcut.
3. 3. Click on the "log onto…" button

Note: the Till_Link software must be run before the TMS15 software.
